The dogs and breeding

FCI has granted me an affix 'Ghostmoor's' in 2008. I took the Breeders basic course in 2004, when I got my first weimaraner 'Aave'. The same year I did my hunters examination (hunting licence) and later on I obtained my weapons licence for a basic shotgun.

At the moment I have at my home two shorthaired weimaraner males: Onnen Päivän Eddy Remunpoika, aka Aave (born in 2004) and my own breeding Ghostmoor's Kinda Cool Magic aka Grimm (born in 2011). In my ownership is also shorthaired weimaraner bitch Banza; FI W-09 & JW-08 Ghostmoor's Joy Sirius Nova who I imported from Czech in 2008. I also have in co-ownership with my friend Sini Vedenoja, a longhaired weimaraner male MultiW Kamikaze z Korunova Dola, aka Kami, who I imported from Czech 2010.

Background

Minä ja koirat

My parents have owned German Shorthaired Pointers from the year 1979 all the way to the year 2006 when our veteran Crex Tina Taucher past away. At the moment my father has two English Pointers; one of them is imported from Spain with his first pointers breeder. I have been around pointing dogs my whole life, and couldn't think of being without them. When it came the time to take my own first dog, it had to be a pointing breed. For me, the weimaraner was the right choise.

Weimaraner is a hunting dog as well as a watch dog and loyal protector of his master and his family. All this makes the weimaraner the one and only breed for me. Weimaraner is not the right dog for everybody, weimaraner needs an owner who is willing to work with the dog and wants to get to know this different gundog, who is also used in the policework in it's homeland Germany.

Weimaraner is beautiful and loyal, as much as it is challencing and hard-headed. He absolutely needs good sosialication and strong basic-training for to be a pleasing dog to live with.

Before you take a weimaraner to your home, you have to consider if you really have the time and energy to train and give proper home to this energetic, strong and smart dog. Weimaraner needs lots of exercise: both mentally and physically.

My views about breeding

All my future litters will be troughly-thinked and they have in my point of view - something to give for the breed. Litters will be awailable only now and then and the parents will represent the weimaraner in the standard of the breed, with good health and will to hunt with the hunting exam results to prove it. The temperament is most importand, and I will only use fit to the breed dog with strong mind-structure and that are outside hunting season fit to be good family dogs. I do not believe in linebreeding, insted I believe in importing dogs from different lines for the wellfare of the genepool and for the health of the breed.

*Please note, that the puppies will only be sold for hunting/ dualpurpose dogs, as I believe in maintaining the original purpose for all the working dogs*
